Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB Office is primarily responsible for developing and directing the University’s Human Subject Protection Program (HSPP), which also involves other offices at Northwestern University. The HSPP mission is to be a model program of excellence in protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects involved in research.

Turn-Around-Time (TAT), provide an important metric to gauge the time it takes from submission to final determinations. The time it takes will vary depending on the review type.
